Maria was born about 1793 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Antonio Santilli and Generosa Ricci.
Her husband was Domenico Margiotta. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Maria Vincenza Agata (1811-?), Liberato Antonio (1815-?), Nicola (1818-?), Gaetano (1822-?) and Sebastiano (1830-?).
