Francesco was born in 1810 in Pizzoferrato, Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy, the son of Alicandro Casciato and Rosaria DiMatteo.
His wife was Innocente D'Ettore. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Elizabeth (1851-1944).
