Maria was born about 1781 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Agostino Zazitta but her mother is unknown.
Her husband was Pietro Pizzoferrato. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their four known children were Angela Raffaele (1811-?), Rosaria Vincenza (1813-1817), Palma Rosa (1816-?) and Palma Rosa (1819-?).
