Paolo was born about 1873 in Aquila, the son of Francesco Taglia and Giacinta Tofani.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Anna Centi. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.

His second wife was Elisabetta Bernabei, who he married on 18 FEB 1903 in Villa Sant'angelo. Their five known children were Annina (1905-1905), Mario (1906-?), Anna (1907-?), Genoseffa (1909-?) and Mafalda (1910-?).
