Giosofatte was born about 1754 in Fagnano Alto, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Felice Angelo Scarsella and Caterina Lozzi.

He died on 13 JUL 1822 in Colvetto.

His wife was Domenica Vallonio. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Serafino Carmine (1795-?), Marianna Carmina Antonia (1797-?), Giuseppe (c1798-1859), Maria Grazia (c1799-1873) and Vincenzo (c1809-1879).
