Giovanni was born about 1782 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Vincenza Tarantello, who he married in ABT 1807. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Anna Antonia (c1810-1811), Anna Antonia (1812-?), Maria Felicia (1816-?) and Giuseppe (1821-1822).
