Domenico was born about 1765 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Silvestro Santacroce and Maddalena d'Achille.

His wife was Maria Zavarella, who he married in ABT 1790. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Maria Giovanna (c1793-?), Francesco Antonio (c1805-?), Venanzo Antonio (1812-1813) and Silvestro Maria (1815-c1817).
