Note 1
Notes from conversations with Angiolina Rossi the summer of 1998
(the owner of the tabacco shop in Torricella Peligna, relative
of those at Contrada Aspromonte and childhood resident of
Contrada Aspromonte): Francesco Rossi, who married Rosina
Aspromonte, and Nice Rossi, who married Nicola Aspromonte, were
brother and sister. Therefore, a brother and sister married a
brother and sister. Angiolina's father, Camillo Rossi, was their
brother. Therefore, Rosina Aspromonte and Francesco Rossi were
Angiolina's aunt and uncle and Nice Rossi and Nicola Aspromonte
were her aunt and uncle. Their children are her first cousins.
The first group emigrated to Montreal and Paris and the second
group to Argentina.
