Chiara was born about 1832 in San Demetrio, the daughter of Francesco Antonio Portante and Maria Giuseppa Bruno.
Her husband was Orazio DelGuzzo, who she married in 2 JUN 1859 in Fagnano Alto, L'Aquila, Italy. Their six known children were Loreto (1861-?), Camillo (1863-1896), Luciano Alfonso (1865-1866), Anna (c1867-?), Angela (1867-?) and Alfonso (1870-1876).
