Lodovico was born about 1775 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Venanzo Pizzoferrato but his mother is unknown.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Anna Domenica DiProspero, who he married in ABT 1799. The place has not been found. Their nine known children were Giovanna (c1800-?), Venanzo (c1800-?), Luigi (c1811-1811), Luigi (1812-?), Maria Vincenza (1815-1815), Vincenzo (c1817-1817), Pelino (1818-?), Vincenzo (1823-?) and Carmine Antonio (1825-1826).
His second wife was Alba Rosa Palombizio, who he married in ABT 1805. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Maria Gaetana (1809-?).
