Carmela was born about 1823 in Rocca di Cambio, the daughter of Francesco Pietrosante but her mother is unknown.

Her husband was Teodoro Nardis. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their three known children were Vincenzo (c1852-?), Loreto (c1863-?) and Domenico (1866-?).
