Dimitri was born in 1886 in Rikov (Pekob), the son of Johan Mehalechko and Mary Zabutsky.
His wife was Mary Liptock, who he married in 1916. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Michael (1918-1986), John (1919-1990), Helen (1921-), Charles (1923-1984), Harold (1925-), Anna (1926-) and Katherine (1928-).
