Francesco was born in 1879 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy, the son of Carmine Martinelli and Maria Giuseppa D'Alessandro.
His wife was Giovanella Martinelli, who he married in ABT 1904. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Giovanella (1904-1995), Marietta (c1907-?), Anna (c1908-?), Carrie (1909-?), Guarino (1911-?) and Harry Perry (1913-1996).
