Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mine foreman by
Republic Steel Co., Banning Mine. He was a member of the Sutersville
Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Blyth Lodge 593 F&AM
in West Newton, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of
Pittsburgh, and AARP, Sutersville Chapter 3174.
