Vitale was born about 1768 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy, the son of Raffaele Mangiarelli but his mother is unknown.

He died before 1837. The place is not known.

His wife was Angiola Palmieri, who he married in ABT 1794 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy. Their five known children were Giuseppe Antonio Pasquale (c1795-?), Michelangelo (c1797-?), Domenica Rosa (c1798-<1883), Nicola (c1803-?) and Giuditta (1811-1843).
