Alfonso was born about 1838 in Bucchianico, the son of Dionisio Mammarella and Maria Anatolia Antonina Cavalucci.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Anna DeLisio, who he married in ABT 1865. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Domenico (1874-?), Maria (1876-?), Maria (c1878-1879), Angelo (1883-1884) and Angelo (1885-?).
His second wife was Giuseppa Varlotta, who he married in 26 OCT 1890 in Rionera. They had no known children.
