Samuel ``Sammy'' Lavigna, 70, of Jeannette, died Friday, June 19,
1992, in Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. He was born
2, 1922, in Jeannette, a son of the late Serafino and Catherine
Laratta Lavigna. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the
former American St. Gobain glass plant in Jeannette. He was a mem
of Ascension Church, Jeannette. He was a World War II veteran, ha
served with the U.S. Navy, and was a member of Jeannette American
Legion Post 344. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in d
by three brothers, James, Nicholas, and Americus Lavigna. He is
survived by a brother, Eugene Lavigna of Denver, Colo.; five sist
Mrs. Faulk (Philomena) Tranchine of Export, Theresa Hooley of
Jeannette, Mrs. Silvio (Rose) Crivellaro of Harrison City, Mrs.
Walter (Artina) Hoderowski of Lower Burrell, and Virginia Saddler
Westmoreland City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
