Giuseppe was born about 1773 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy, the son of Carmine Fanti and Berardina D'Amico.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Concetta Galassi, who he married in ABT 1810 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy. Their seven known children were Raffaele (1810-?), Raimondo Antonio (1811-?), Domenico (1812-1812), Domenicantonio (1813-?), Pietro Cipriano (1815-1816), Crescenza (1818-?) and Maria (1821-?).

His second wife was Rosaria Mariani. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Mariadomenica (1840-1842).
