Falcocchiio's passion for the drums continued for decades, first playing jazz and then rock with the likes of B. E. Taylor, the Vogues, and former members of the Shondells. He made music for radio and television commercials and played in local bands.
Phillip Falcocchio died during a performance with his band, The Knobs, at Rodneys Lounge in Hempfield On Saturday.
In 1963, his "rock and rolling began with a band called the Starfires," according to his autobiography.
After graduating from Norwin High School in 1964 He was drafted into the military and served in Vietnam.
Upon his return to the Pittsburgh area, he dove into music, playing backup and going on the road with such acts as Little Anthony & the Imperials, Sonny &I Cher and Simon & Garfunkel.
