Nicola was born in 1802 in Poggio San Vittorino, the son of Bartolomeo Ulisse and Giovanna Palma.
His wife was Maria Giuseppa DiOdoardo, who he married in ABT 1825. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Filomena (c1835-?), Angelo (1839-?), Filippo (1841-?), Massimo (1847-?), Raffaele (1849-?), Bartolomeo (1853-?) and Geremia (1857-?).
