Carmela was born on 13 MAR 1863 in Taranta Peligna, Chieti, Italy, the daughter of Sabia Elisabetta Ditomaso but her father is unknown.

She died on 16 JAN 1939 in Louisville.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was Enrico Antonio Santilli, who she married on 22 FEB 1883 in Taranta Peligna, Chieti, Italy. Their four known children were Concetta (c1884-1908), Angelina (1886-1952), Domenico (1892-1893) and Domenico Antonio (1894-1965).

Her second husband was Angelo Dipietro, who she married in AFT 1894. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Nicholas (1907-1925), Mary (1908-1960) and Rose (1908-1968).
