Nicola was born in 1803 in Atri, the son of Giustino DiBernardo and Maddalena DiBernardo.
His wife was Anna Domenica DiGianvittorio, who he married in Montepagano, Teramo, Italy. The date has not been found. Their three known children were Giuistino (1826-1893), Palmantonio (1833-1914) and Maria Assunta (c1840-?).
