Nicola was born about 1777 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Maria Antonia Cavallaro. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Maria Domenica (c1800-?), Luigi (c1810-?), Domenico Antonio (1813-?), Pasquale (1816-1817) and Angela Rosa (1820-1821).
