Francesco was born about 1748 in Villa Sant'Angelo, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Franco DeMatteis and Caterina Corona.
His wife is not known, but they were married in ABT 1794. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Angela Maria (c1799-1874).
