Serafina was born about 1774 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Marinis d'Alesi but her mother is unknown.
Her husband was Gaspare DeMarinis, who she married in ABT 1798. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Maria (c1799-?), Emanuele Almerinda Rosina (1811-?), Irene Giustina (1813-?), Rachele Rosaria (1816-?) and Antonio (c1818-1818).
