Caterina was born about 1790 in Villa Sant'Angelo, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Berardino DeMatteis but her mother is unknown.
Her husband was Pietro DeMatteis, who she married in ABT 1814. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Anna Maria Domenica (c1815-1887), Serafina (c1815-1879) and Berardino Cesare (c1820-1905).
