John Martino jumped ship in the Port of New York.

He had an infection and he knew that they would not let him in at Ellis Island.

He gave his bags and clothes to a man to hold. The man stole his clothes and belongings. He arrived in America wet, with only the clothes that he had on when he drove in Atlantic Ocean.
