Giovanni was born about 1776 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Maria Onesta Petrella, who he married in ABT 1810. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Vincenzo (c1812-?), Maria Giuseppa (1813-?), Maria Carmina (1816-?), Amadio (1819-?) and Maria Domenica (1823-?).
