Giovanni was born about 1781 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Celeste Antolini. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their four known children were Maria Concezia Loreta (1811-1822), Angela Caterina (1814-?), Giovanni Berardino (1819-1820) and Pasqua Rosa (1825-1826).
