Giovanni was born about 1776 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Elisabetta DiCristofaro, who he married in ABT 1800. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Domenico Antonio (c1801-?), Rosa (c1809-1811), Giovanni Angelo (1812-1899), Giuseppe (1814-?), Albina Maria Concezia (1817-?), Gaetano Liberato Maria (1819-?) and Donato (1821-1831).
